KonoLive Launches The First Instant Collaboration Software Solution

Konolive

KonoLive, the instant collaboration software, announced its global launch today at DEMO 08, the premier launch venue for new products, technologies and companies. KonoLive is the instant collaboration software that is defining the future of knowledge sharing.

We all collaborate on a daily basis. KonoLive connects the three core elements necessary to get things done - People, Activities, and Content - and introduces a new layer of collaboration tools to enable the smooth integration of all three. With KonoLive, collaborating on the things you do every day can be reduced to intuitive, single-click actions. By engaging your social and business networks to contribute to activities, KonoLive brings more value to the content you create and share - anytime, anywhere and on any format.

It’s easy to confuse ‘communication’ - which is around us every day through email, phone, fax and instant messenger applications - with ‘collaboration’,” commented Yossi Dan, co-founder & CEO of 2Win-Solutions, the developer of KonoLive. “The ability to truly collaborate on any content is still a cumbersome process with multiple versions of documents, media and other content being generated by overwhelmed knowledge workers. KonoLive empowers teams and individuals in a unified collaboration space and increases their productivity without requiring them to learn complex new tools.

Online, exponential growth of social software is just beginning to tap the potential of collaboration networks. Connections are being created, but are not yet boosting productivity and frustration levels continue to rise while working with existing collaboration software. KonoLive provides an intuitive environment that is open to the applications everyone uses on a daily basis, freeing team members to work efficiently in familiar territory.

As a unified collaboration space, KonoLive concentrates relevant content items such as documents, Web pages and media files so that they are easily accessible. This enables a quick review cycle, with collaboration tools such as comment, digital signature, tag, vote and more to come. This information is available from the KonoLive collaboration space, creating an environment that communicates expertise. KonoLive works both offline and online, enabling everyone to work anytime, anywhere.

Commenting on the launch of KonoLive, Chris Shipley, executive producer of the DEMO Conferences said, “It’s still early days for online collaboration. Even while social and business networking tools are seeing rapid adoption, real productivity won’t come until these new technologies are integrated into usable mash-ups. KonoLive creates a unified collaboration that lets its customers get things done. It’s a new baseline for practical knowledge sharing.

KonoLive is one of the first applications to leverage Adobe® AIRTM, strengthening the connection between the desktop and the Internet to create a smooth and seamless experience for KonoLive users as they navigate intuitively between applications.

KonoLive is also announcing its private beta program, offering anyone the chance to begin collaborating and sharing ideas and content for free. Visit KonoLive to sign up and understand the elegant simplicity of instant collaboration.

Delver Presents: A Social Networks Search Engine

Social Networks search Engine

Delver will present its soon-to-launch socially connected search engine at DEMO 08 in Palm Desert, California, on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 3pm PST. Delver is the first company to map a user’s social connections and deliver comprehensive Web search results ranked according to their social relevance to that user.

“People want trusted information from their friends, but may not know who in their network is knowledgeable about a given topic,” said Liad Agmon, CEO of Delver. “We make Web search more fun and meaningful by prioritizing results based on a user’s network, while enabling the user to discover others in their extended network who share common interests.”

Delver makes search more significant to the user by organizing friends’ tags and information found on social networking profiles, blogs, bookmarks, photo and video sharing sites; unlike older-generation Web search engines which prioritize the Web based upon the popularity of a given page or Web site. Then, the Delver search engine ranks this information based upon the searcher’s social connections. Since every person’s social graph is unique — like a fingerprint — the same query garners vastly different results for each person and reflects the collective experiences of a user’s trusted contacts.

“Delver’s social search functionality has the potential to redefine the way people search for uniquely relevant information on the Web,” said Chris Shipley, executive producer of the semi annual DEMO Conferences.

Since the user’s social connections impact the type of information a Delver search will yield, each user’s results will be different. For example, if a 50-year old mom and her teen son use Delver to search for information on a particular film the results generated for the mom will vary greatly from that of her son, based on the differences of their respective social groups. Delver organizes and ranks content from the user’s network because social connections are critical for discovering more personally relevant information.

A Star Is Born! Google + Facebook For Health 2.0

imedix untitled

iMedix , the first community-powered health search engine, launched today after a year in development. iMedix allows consumers to benefit from the online research conducted by thousands of others with similar health conditions or interests. The integrated community platform allows users to enhance that information through real-time patient-to-patient interaction. By combining advanced search with community features, iMedix empowers people to find and share health information in order to make better health-related decisions.

iMedix’s patent-pending ‘evolutionary’ search engine analyzes users’ feedback against millions of medical articles, pictures and videos in order to provide the best answers for health related questions and concerns. The system ranks Web pages based on those that have proven to be most useful and relevant to other users searching for the same information. Additionally, iMedix shows users whether pages are from sources certified by HON (Health On the Net Foundation), URAC (Utilization Review Accreditation Commission) and other organizations.

Using iMedix, patients can easily connect with others who suffer from similar conditions and exchange information about symptoms, prevention and treatment through real-time chat – all in a single click. They can also build their own communities around specific health interests by creating friends lists and adding new friends.
The company will soon make its health search technology available to other Web sites. Health portals, publications, blogs and other sites will have the ability to embed the iMedix search widget to display instant and relevant health information from people and Web sources.

iMedix meets a growing demand for reliable health information online. Ten million Americans per day use the Internet to search for health-related information, according to the Pew Research Center[1] . However, the majority are dissatisfied with their search experience: A study by JupiterResearch[2] revealed that only 16 percent of adults who searched online for health information were satisfied with their findings. There is also a strong demand among patients for community support and interaction via the Web: A separate JupiterResearch[3] study revealed that 34 percent of US adults connected with others online, or with the online content created by others, for health reasons.
iMedix is a privately-funded start-up, founded in January 2007 by Internet veterans Amir Leitersdorf  and Iri Amirav.

Amir Leitersdorf, CEO of iMedix, previously co-founded Movota, which was successfully sold to The Bertelsmann Group in 2005. He also held the position of CTO at Tapuz (TPUZ – Tel Aviv Stock Exchange). Iri Amirav, CMO at iMedix, established and led the marketing division at MetaCafe , overseeing 2,500 percent growth to 17 million uniques and 450 million page views per month. Iri previously held positions at Time Warner and Pelephone. iMedix is supported by an advisory board of strategic investors, successful Internet entrepreneurs, information retrieval specialists, artificial intelligence professors and medical experts. The company has raised almost $2 million to date in seed funding.
“Until today, searching for health information online was a lonely business. Now, for the first time, it is a collaborative effort,” said Amir Leitersdorf, co-founder and CEO of iMedix. “Our technology uses advanced learning systems to leverage the hours of online research conducted by thousands of users for the benefit of the individual patient. Every user interaction contributes directly to the site’s ability to deliver relevant results. This breakthrough is what makes us so excited about bringing iMedix to market.”
“We saw a tremendous opportunity to create a patient-powered service that gave users everything they need to make better health-related decisions,” said Iri Amirav, co-founder and CMO of iMedix. “Our goal was to allow patients to harness the real-life experiences of others. We’ve done that on iMedix by allowing patients to find each other and communicate in real-time.”

LingoZ is a service by Babylon.com, which is a leader in online dictionaries software. We hope to leverage our experience, knowledge and vast content, in order to help our community build the best online dictionary in the world.
Babylon has been into user-generated content long before the UGC became all that hype. Back in 2000, Babylon initiated a user-contribution program, in which users submitted glossaries they built themselves. We now allow any user to take part in our community by contributing even just a single term or definition hoping that this will enable everybody to participate.

  • Add new Terms
  • Add Definitions and translations for existing terms
  • Add Glossaries ? lists of terms with a common ground that may be a useful aggregation for other users (for example: A Glossary for Football terms)
  • Comment and Collaborate with others on any content item
  • Vote for the quality of terms, definitions and Glossaries

LingoZ

LingoZ is designed to make sure that your contribution will be solely be attributed to you ? you are the only person who may edit your items and only you will be credited for the feedback others will give.
Users who are highly praised will gain credibility and enjoy visibility within the LingoZ community.
They aim to prove that a user contributed dictionary who is subject to the community moderation can be as accurate and of high quality as a “regular” dictionary, while evolving and being updated faster than any other source.
