Half of High-Tech Innovations at DEMO Germany were Israeli!

DEMO Germany

Nine of the 20 companies selected from across Europe to demonstrate their exciting new products at the first DEMO event in Europe (www.demogermany.de) were ISRAELI! The prestigious launchpad for emerging technology made its debut in Europe last month, after 17 years in the US (www.demo.com). Israeli companies selected by DEMO’s Advisory Board were: Cellotrip, Decell, Fring, Hurricane, Locationet, MORE IT, Nareos, Telemessage, and Velingo. And … Fring won the “DEMO God” award for best presentation!

Held in Munich, the mostly German audience was overwhelmed by the quality and originality of the Israeli innovations. Due to the preponderance of Israelis, the Israel Trade Center in Berlin was given a booth at the event, where a film about Israeli high-tech was shown to the investors, journalists, analysts and multinationals in attendance. During the final session, the Director of the Trade Center was invited to the stage to answer the question that everyone had been asking: What is it about Israel that makes its population so entrepreneurial and willing to take risks?

DEMO is backed by the giant high-tech media, research, and event group, IDG (www.idg.com), produced in Germany by the MagniGROUP (www.magnigroup.de), and represented in Israel by Tech River (www.tech-river.com).
